Notes from a meeting of Alton Rural Regeneration Group held on September 23rd 2008.
Present: John Moorhouse, Pat Riesco, Jonathan Shepherd, Sally Khadjenouri
Apologies were received from Linda Goodwin, Gillian Morrison, Gabby & Chris Lees.
It was agreed that there were not enough people present to go through the minutes of the last meeting & hold an official meeting. However as Jonathan Shepherd had attended to discuss the Carols at the Roundhouse it was decided to continue with this item.
Carols at the Roundhouse 2008
The provisional date for this event is 12th December. Jonathan asked for some help with the following tasks:
1. Wine - Collecting the wine donations from the local pubs.
2. Leaflet Drop - This would involve liaising with Julian Beattie who does the printing and we need volunteers to deliver leaflets around the village.
3. Lights -John Moorhouse volunteered to help with the lights.
4. Brazier - Someone to supervise this and keep the fire going throughout the event.
5. Traffic -Volunteers to control the traffic on the evening during the procession from the castle to the roundhouse.
6. Homemade Mince Pies - We are obviously a discerning crowd as lots of the store bought donations were left over last year. So we would like more donations of homemade mince pies please.
7. Candles - Someone to sell the candles at the start of the procession.
More information about all of the above can be obtained from Jonathan.
A provisional date of Wednesday 26th November was set for a planning meeting to be held at Jonathan’s house.
