ALTON REGENERATION GROUP (SRB)
Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 9th October 2007 at The Royal Oak, Alton.
1. PRESENT: Gillian Morrison, Angie Hurst (minutes), Gabby Lees, Loz Mitchell, David Scrivens, Sally Kadjenouri and Linda Goodwin
2. APOLOGIES: Alan Heath, John Moorhouse, Pat Riesco and Neil Jeffereys.
3. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING: These were read and agreed
4. MATTERS ARISING: Angie has sent out letters to all businesses advertising on the website who have not donated this year. Because of the postal strike Pat has delivered the local letters by hand.
5. WEBSITE. There was nothing to report but the website is being very well looked after by Neil. Thank you Neil from us all.
6. PUMP AREA AND NEW ROAD GARDEN. Dave offered to liaise with Alan on what was needed to take this project forward.
7. YOUTH PROJECT: It was thought that some sort of youth project was needed in Alton. Dave suggested we hold a meeting of local parents and young people to find out there needs. It was eventually decided that this was best left to be included in the new appraisal.
8. SPORTS FIELD: Sally has arranged for Alan to let Gabby have the information that was gathered several years ago. This could well be part of a youth project.
9. TRANSPORT CO-ORDINATOR : No feedback on this at present.
10. ALLOTMENTS: Nothing to tell at present.
11. CALENDARS: These are selling slowly
12. CAROLS AT THE ROUNDHOUSE: This will be held on the 14th December starting at St Johns Church as usual at 6pm. It was suggested that this should be on the agenda for the next meeting with only one other item to discuss. Angie said she would speak to Jonathan to see if he would like to attend and discuss any help he might need. Linda would speak to Ken Mainey about leaflet distribution and if this was in hand. This Annual event goes from strength to strength each year with more and more villagers attending.
13. ANY OTHER BUSINESS: Gillian has printed out a leaflet that could be distributed to villagers about ARG and the January meeting. It was agreed that these could be distributed by Pat. It was also agreed to possibly print this on the back of the reminders for Carols at the roundhouse. It was decided that there would not be a meeting in December as this was a busy time for all. It was agreed that the next meeting should have the village appraisal and Carols at the Roundhouse on the agenda for discussion and we would all think about the questionnaire for the appraisal. Angie gave her apologies for the next meeting as she would be on holiday.
14. DATE TIME AND PLACE OF THE NEXT MEETINGS: Tuesday 13th November 2007 and Tuesday 15th January at the Royal Oak Pub at 7.30pm.
