Minutes of the meeting held 24th April 2006
The minutes were approved and signed as a true record.
Matters Arising There were no matters arising.
Report of the Parish Clerk was read and noted.
Any other item of business put forward by an Elector
Councillor Forrester declared an open forum to allow parishioners present to raise issues/ask questions.
· A parishioner suggested that local newspapers should be contacted regarding the apathy towards local affairs as demonstrated by the poor turn out to this meeting. Discussion followed including the possibility of merging some local Parish Councils.
· A parishioner raised the issue of the number of non-elected quangos springing up within the village. It was discussed that some of these organisations seem to bypass the elected Parish Council who should be dealing with and raising these issues. It was felt incongruous that non-elected members run these forums. There was an explanation of the newly created police liaison committee and it was suggested that if issues arise that should be dealt with by the Parish Council, that this should be expressed at the meetings.
There being no other business, the Chairman thanked everyone for attending and declared the meeting closed.
