Carols At The Roundhouse
« on: December 15, 2005, 03:27:51 PM »
What a great turn out on a night when we weren't sure if the weather would hold or if there would be a big enough area for the donkey let alone a crowd of people.
Mary & Joseph were closely followed by the largest procession yet & they did look excellent with all the candles lighting their way.

It was great to see you all on the night & judging from the way the soup & the mulled wine disappeared everyone enjoyed themselves. We would like to thank all of the people who gave their time, the businesses who donated to the event & to you,the public of Alton & the surrounding villages who made it worthwhile, donating to the funds of the SRB group & making it possible for us to hold more of these excellent evenings.
The musicians sang & played for a long time as we went through the song sheets so thanks to them & also the "A" minor bellringers were there adding to the festivities.Although I must say that some of them weren't as junior as they made out to be.
The Roundhouse will be open for a few more weeks yet so we would like you all to enjoy the Nativity scene, especially the younger members of the village who may not have seen it before.

The roadworks were a problem, & many words of "hurry up" were uttered to the workers leaning on shovels & drinking tea but it didn't seem to make any difference. We were told that work would not commence until after the 9th december but then, when have the public ever been informed.
Enough moaning....

great night
thankyou for coming.
