ALTON RURAL REGENERATION GROUP
MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD AT THE ROYAL OAK, ALTON
ON TUESDAY 6th DECEMBER 2005.

1.   PRESENT:   Angie Hurst, Gillian Morrison, John Moorhouse, Alan Heath,  
                         Ruth Murray-Walker, and Dave Scrivens.   

2. APOLOGIES: Sarah Newland-Pratt, Claire Head and Linda Goodwin.

3. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING:  Were read and agreed.

4. PLAYGROUND UPDATE: Alan reported that the finances had been sorted out. The group recognised the problem regarding the surface in that top soil was coming through the matting. Alan has contacted the contractors and they are willing to resolve the problem. Angie is waiting to hear from Mark Kerrigan from Alton Towers, who had offered to advise us.

5. WEBSITE:  Mark is dealing with getting plans of the surgery on the website. John reported that Details from Severn Trent Water would be going on the website. Ruth still ongoing with the B&B collection.

6.       PUBLICITY AND RECRUITMENT DRIVE:  Ongoing. Dave Scrivens suggested an      
          Open meeting in the New Year. Dave offered to help with publicity. He also has contact
Numbers for a free leaflet drop. Angie agreed to fill in the forms for the community groups in Alton (i.e. Scouts etc). The leaflet for the Carols at the Roundhouse detailed some of our achievements and publicised the website… many thanks to Claire.

7    CALENDAR: These are out in the community for sale.
 
8.      GATEWAY UPKEEP:  Ongoing.
               
9.      VILLAGE HALL: Alan reported that the decorating had been done, the kitchen had been refitted, were about to act on the quotes for boiler and toilets. Dave agreed to look into funding for the stage.  Dave suggested someone from the Village Hall Committee should look at the stage at Oulton Village Hall. It was designed and built by a joiner so that it could be dismantled and stored in a small space. Alan agreed to put this to the Village Hall Committee.

10.    CAROLS AT THE ROUNDHOUSE: All in hand.

11.    ANY OTHER BUSINESS: Dave informed us that the SRB funding ends in March,
         But he would be funded for another two years.  

12.    DATE OF NEXT MEETINGS:   Tuesdays January 10th 2006, February 7th AGM and March 7th2006 at the Royal Oak at 7.30pm.
