ALTON RURAL REGENERATION GROUP
MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD AT THE ROYAL OAK, ALTON
ON TUESDAY 5th July 2005

1.   PRESENT:   Angie Hurst, Gillian Morrison, John Moorhouse, Linda Goodwin,
                          Sarah Newland and Dave Scrivens.

2. APOLOGIES:  Alan Heath, Ruth Murray-Walker and Josi Shepherd.

3. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING:  Were read and agreed.

4. MATTERS ARISING: There were none. Dave Scrivens was introduced to the new members.

5. UPDATE ON THE BEST-KEPT VILLAGE:  It was difficult to tidy the gateway area at the beginning of the year because of the road works taking place in that area. Gillian agreed to organise the next work party. John said the plinth would be put back soon hopefully by the end of July. There would be a litter pick on 9th July.

6. PLAYGROUND UPDATE:  Ongoing. Close to completion Linda felt we needed an update on the funding.

7. WEBSITE:  John now has access to the website for the minutes. Sarah has several people interested in work on the website.

8. B  & B DIRECTORY: Ongoing.

9. PUBLICITY AND RECRUITMENT DRIVE:  Sarah felt there was a good response to the questionnaires handed out at the fete, she has telephone numbers of people interested in helping on various projects. Sarah handed out a status report from the questionnaires returned. Sarah agreed to follow up the responders.

10. ANY OTHER BUSINESS:  Dave Scrivens thought the group needed a boost to get new recruits; he suggested we invite parishioners to the village hall in the New Year for a consultation evening showing what has been achieved. Gill has had a few posters made at the cost of £25. John proposed payment be made. This was seconded by Sarah and unanimously agreed. Dave has taken away with him an A4 poster and has offered to play on the computer to see what he can come up with for us. Dave needs 1 to 2 months notice if we need anything, his scheme has been funded for another 12 months. He informed us that he has funding packages from the Robbie Williams Trust; this is for small youth projects. It was agreed that we would not have a meeting in August. Dave said if we needed funding for the posters/flyers we could apply for funding, he thought we could get up to 50%.

11. DATES OF FUTURE MEETINGS:  Tuesday 6th September.
