ALTON RURAL REGENERATION GROUP
MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD AT THE ROYAL OAK, ALTON
ON TUESDAY 31st MAY 2005.
1. PRESENT: Alan Heath, Angie Hurst, Gillian Morrison, Ruth Murray-Walker, and
Sarah Newland.
2. APOLOGIES: John Moorhouse.
3. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING: Were read and agreed.
4. MATTERS ARISING: There were none.
5. UPDATE ON THE BEST-KEPT VILLAGE: John Angie and Steven strimmed and tidied the Gateway, it was decided this should be ongoing and Gillian would contact us with a date. The village Hall litter pick went well and the Alley by the Londis shop was cleared of weeds. Angie agreed to phone Mark Kerrigan at Alton Towers to see if they could help to keep the village clean especially at weekends. Sarah agreed to take control of the collection of names at the church fete to help with the Gateway tidy up for the future.
6. PLAYGROUND UPDATE: Ongoing.
7. WEBSITE: Ongoing.
8. B & B DIRECTORY: Ongoing.
9. PUBLICITY AND RECRUITMENT DRIVE: Quotes for a permanent letter heading are ongoing. Angie agreed to put some publicity together about the website for the fete. Gillian will attempt to get some fade out copies of the map for Angie to print on. Alan said he would supply some A4 paper for Angie to print onto. Sarah will put a letter together “What we have achieved” for the fete.
10. CHURCH FETE Meet at 1pm at St Peters on 11th June and 12pm at St Johns on the 18th June.
11. GATEWAY UPKEEP: Date and time to be decided.
12. ANY OTHER BUSINESS: There was none.
13. DATES OF FUTURE MEETINGS: Tuesday 5th July 2005, Tuesday 2nd August 2005 and Tuesday 6th September.
